Find a workable response when two people want different things.

A coping or communication skill never creates permission to call, text, message, visit, follow, return, or use another person to pass a message.

Define the issue.
Let each person state what matters.
Identify areas of agreement.
Identify non-negotiable boundaries.
Brainstorm options.
Choose a workable compromise if possible.
